Use This Handy List To Prepare Your Tax Files for Your CPA
In today’s DIY world it is common to think you can purchase software and easily do your own taxes. While it is easy to “fill in the blank”, it is not always easy to know what deductions and credits you are entitled to and many times it is not clear what information to fill in and where. Jerry has represented individuals who did their own taxes and then were audited. It was found that they entered information into the wrong field in the tax software or in some cases entered the figures more than once. This error on their part resulted in additional penalties and interest, not exactly a savings!
An experienced tax professional can find ways to legally provide tax savings that are not obvious. Even seemingly simple tax returns can be confusing and opportunities for tax credits or deductions can be missed.
It is important when hiring a tax professional that you find someone who keeps up with current tax laws, complex tax codes and regulations. Jerry has been a California Licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1974. He continues to stay abreast of the new and ever-changing tax laws, complex tax code and regulations, by regularly attending seminars and continuing education classes.
Our firm is an Authorized IRS efile Provider.
All tax returns prepared by our office are filed electronically unless otherwise required by the tax agency(s) involved.
What You Will Get When You Use Gerald D Muto, CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Services:
Our fee for Individual Tax services is based on an hourly rate rather than forms like many other tax preparation and CPA firms. This is can be savings for you! Some tax returns are much more complex than others so it is hard to give a “standard rate” but in general Jerry’s fee is between $250-$375 for an individual tax return, this includes any applicable efile fees.
Keep in mind that the professionals hired by companies such as H&R Block, Liberty Tax, etc. are not always licensed CPAs and may not have extensive accounting backgrounds. While the CPA fee schedule has the potential to cost more than one of these options, you may find that you save more on your taxes by entrusting them to a Certified Public Accountant.
